A digital loyalty card: collect without paper.

A digital loyalty card does exactly what the paper one does: it counts purchases until a reward is due — ten kebabs bought, the eleventh is on the house. It just lives in your guest's browser instead of creasing in their wallet.

Stamping happens once they have paid, not for walking in. What earns a stamp, how many it takes and what you hand over at the end is up to you. Your guest needs no app and no password: an email address and a code, that is the whole sign-up.

Kim's phone. No app, just a bookmark. The stamp shows up while she is still at the counter.

Tap the card. You are holding the stamp.

A guest in the pilot, unprompted: “… and now the stamp should drop down. Ah, there it is.”

01 · How it runs

How it runs.

  1. 01

You set the card up: ten fields, “one free coffee”. That happens once.

  2. 02

Your guest scans the notice on your counter or taps the card on your page. They enter their email address, confirm with a code, and the card is in their wallet.

  3. 03

Once they have paid, your staff tap once. The stamp visibly lands on the field — for the guest watching, too.

  4. 04

When the card is full, the counter says so. Your guest can take the reward right away or next time.

  5. 05

If they have no smartphone, you add them by name and stamp for them. Their card then sits with you.

The owner. He sets the card up: ten slots, one coffee. After that he never touches it again.
Your staff. She stamps on her phone, one-handed, between two guests.

02 · The reward

And when it's full?

Then what he collected for is right there. These five pictures were taken while the software was running too — the same coffee card as above, nine visits later.

  1. 01

    The counter

On the tenth visit it says so itself.

Nobody has to count along and nobody has to check. The counter reports the full card and offers the reward — the moment the last stamp lands.

  2. 02

    The counter

The reward leaves as a voucher.

One tap on “hand over” and a voucher with its own code exists. Anyone in a hurry takes it along — it won't run away, and the card starts over right away.

  3. 03

    The guest

    It sits in his wallet.

Next to the card that just started over. No slip to lose, and no “didn't I still have something?”.

  4. 04

    The guest

On his next visit he holds it up.

The same gesture as with the card: tap, hold up. Six digits sit underneath again, for when the camera refuses.

  5. 05

    The counter

    Redeemed. Once, and never again.

The code is spent afterwards — even if somebody photographed it. That is the difference from paper, and it is the only one that costs you money when it's missing.

03 · What you set

Most of it is already filled in.

The designer asks six questions: how many fields until the reward, what the reward is, which conditions apply, whether it expires, where it belongs in your catalogue, and whether it goes live right away. A template has already answered most of them — and you can change every single one afterwards. Two stay empty, because only you know them: which product, and which category it sits in.

The conditions are optional but not arbitrary: whatever you write there, the guest sees before redeeming (German § 5a UWG). Colour and name come from your shop, and the sentence the guest reads is suggested for you.

The reward ends up as a voucher the guest sees in their wallet. They can redeem it right away or on their next visit. If they have no phone, the counter redeems it for them — the code sits in your admin area and is eight characters that cannot be confused with one another.

04 · What it is not

What it is not.

  • Not an app anyone has to install — neither you nor your guest.
  • No password. Signing in works with an email address and a code that arrives by mail. Guests without a phone need neither.
  • No stamp for walking in. Stamping happens after payment, for what you defined.
  • No points system with an exchange rate. Ten kebabs are ten stamps.
  • No drinks supplier's advertising on the card. Your name, your colour.

05 · Questions

What owners ask first.

“Do I need an app for this?”

The question almost every new guest asks at the counter first. The answer is no. The card opens in the browser every smartphone already has. If they like, they add it to their home screen as a bookmark. Nothing gets installed.

What about regulars without a smartphone?

You add them at the counter by name and stamp for them. Their card then sits with you. When it is full, you redeem the reward for them at the counter.

When does a guest get a stamp?

When they have bought what you defined and paid for it. Not for walking in, and not for scanning the notice. Whether there is a stamp per coffee, per kebab or per purchase is your call.

Can someone stamp their own card?

No. Stamping only happens at your counter, on your staff member’s device. The same code does not go through twice in a row either — the counter blocks it briefly.

How is this different from a punch card?

A loyalty card counts purchases up and only costs you something once the reward is redeemed. A punch card is paid for up front and counts down.

What does the digital loyalty card cost?

Nothing during the pilot phase. Rebounz is being built, and whoever joins now talks directly to the person building it.

What it costs: nothing during the pilot.

I am building Rebounz on my own and I am looking for businesses to join in. Whoever is in now talks directly to the person building it.
